Slutever Page 23
If you’re reading the last page of this book first, you won’t know that way back in the intro manifesto, I laid out my personal definition of a slut as a person who seeks out visceral experiences through sex. Being a slut means approaching sex in a way that’s positive and additive to your life, free of the burden of social stigma. And that definition can apply to anyone, no matter their age, gender, or relationship status. Being a slut is a mind-set. It’s a decision. And if there’s one thing that I’m not noncommittal about, it’s that I choose to live life in a sluttier state of consciousness.

Acknowledgments
To my family, for loving me, putting up with me, and for fucking me up in all the right ways. To Sally Singer, for taking a chance and giving the slut blogger a column at Vogue. To Andrew Richardson, for years of slutty wisdom, as off-base as you can be at times. To Maddie Caldwell, my editor at Grand Central, for your invaluable guidance, and for making me sound like less of an idiot. To my agent, Luke Janklow, for all of your support, and for fielding my manic phone calls with grace and depth of voice. To Max Stein, because you (weirdly) seem to care about my success more than I do. To Kelsi, because you’re my personal slutty heroine (and because it’s always good to have a friend who’s sluttier than you). To Sophia Larigakis, for helping me organize my thoughts (and words), and for your unequivocally Gen Z feedback. To Zach, for taking me to the top of the Empire State Building on the night that I finally finished this book (and for the many other times that you’ve made me feel high, literally and figuratively). To probiotics, for helping to keep my pH in check through it all—I know it hasn’t been easy for you. And to all the sluts out there: You are loved.
